"We are the teachers of the 21st century learners...
Learn to change;
Change to learn;
Be prepared to;
INSPIRE.........CREATE..........INTEGRATE.......!"
I must admit, after clicking the link on moodle about TPACK, and finding it was 38 pages long, I was very unenthused. However, after watching this youtube video about the TPACK framework, I was excited and interested to see what all this was about.
After doing some research, and watching some more videos about the TPACK framework, I have finally grasped an understanding as follows:
TPACK stands for Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge.
TK - Technical Knowledge such as software, computers, IPads etc.
PK - Pedagogical Knowledge- knowing how to teach your subject area.
CK - Content Knowledge - what I as a teacher am trying to convey to my students.
(now we refer to the below picture to easily see the three main circles of the framework)
In the area between Technological Knowledge and Content Knowledge, you can see "TCK"; technological content knowledge. This is how to use technology to support the study of specific content. "PCK" - Pedagogical Content Knowledge; how to effectively teach the specific content knowledge your students need to know. "TPK" - Technological Pedagogical Knowledge; how to use technology to support your study of specific content.
FINALLY WE GET TO THE CENTRAL IDEA:
How all three (Technological, Pedagogical and Content) work together to support good teaching.
After learning about The TPACK Framework, I definately am keen for when I am on prac, to be able to attempt to use this model to inspire, create and integrate technology for my students :)

love the TPACK video
